Ease of Use
The OxySure Model 615 is easy to use. In just 3 very simple, easy steps, anyone can administer medical oxygen in an emergency without the need for regulators, tanks, or special training. The Model 615 is lightweight and durable and generates 6 liters per minute (LPM) of oxygen for a minimum duration of 15 minutes. The total oxygen produced exceeds 90+ liters, meeting the FDA requirements for over-the-counter, emergency oxygen.
Anyone can administer life saving oxygen in 3 simple steps. The following illustrations and instructions are found on the top of the Model 615 lid:
1. The mask is plugged in first so that the system is “opened” and gas can flow. The quick connect fitting has an internal valve that keeps the system sealed so that the system remains dust and pathogen free. Once plugged in, the valve is opened, allowing the oxygen to flow.
2. Once the knob is turned (1/4 turn clockwise), the three cartridge ingredients combine and oxygen is immediately generated. The knob automatically snaps back to a primed position, ready for activation if necessary.
3. Place the mask over the nose and mouth.
Replacing the Disposable Cartridge:
The back of the cartridge illustrates the steps for replacing a used cartridge. These steps are rarely done at the scene of the emergency unless a second cartridge is required to extend the oxygen supply longer than 15 minutes:
1. Check the Indicator
2. Inspect for wear and tear.
3. Open the lid and remove the expended cartridge
4. Insert the new cartridge, remove safety tabs and close the lid
5. Replace the mask/tray.
The first step illustration shows an indicator that is ready for use, both dots show WHITE. More detailed information can be found in the Cartridge Replacement Instructions accompanying each cartridge, an example of which can be found in the literature packet sent with the unit. The cartridge is simple to remove and the kidney shape of the system allows insertion in only one direction. The mask is designed for single-use to avoid cross contamination between users; the mask should be replaced when the cartridge is replaced. The mask is stored on a plastic tray (the “mask tray”) that fits into the top of the dust cover for quick access to the mask in an emergency. Each system comes with comprehensive Instructions for Use.
